Description

Lena Boone carved each of these wonderful animals from petrified mammoth tusk. Each animal has little turquoise eyes, and is separated with a turquoise bead. This is a lovely and delicate necklace by a master carver.

Lena Boone is the sister of Dinah Gaspar, daughter of Edna Leki and granddaughter of Teddy Weahkee who started her carving lessons when she was very young. Most of her animal fetishes are carved in the traditional style with clean lines and minimal detail. Her fetishes can be found in museums and in collections worldwide.

Sadly, Lena passed away in August of 2024. She was well loved and we will miss her.

This necklace is part of a living estate from Central Arizona, and was purchased directly from the artist.
